What do you think you’ll do then
I bet that’ll shoot down your plane
It’ll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
Maybe you’ll get a replacement
There’s plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain’t got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground
sorry, love the song but cant sing and play it on the guitar unless you make it easier
Yeah someday it would be nice to write a script to automatically allow us to change to key if any song. Something like they do at e-chords.com.
Wit this is a gutair website…. I’m on piano
It’s really a piano song. I think some stuff just doesn’t translate to guitar. It’s murder on a six string but on keys it’s sensible.
This isn’t too tough to play if you can do some barre chords. Try playing just the bass note of the C/E, F/C, and F/A chords…E, C, and, A respectively.
I love this, sounds exactly like the song and it is not too hard.
I think this is close but not quite perfect. On the opening walk down, I tried it out with both piano and guitar against the record came up with F-Am-Dm-C-Bb-Bb/C-F. Also, I prefer Gm and Bbm to Gm7 and Bbm7 but I like the D7 and A7. I think even the A with the ‘howling old owl’ could be A7. Pretty amazing and somewhat bizarre chord changes in this song!
Picky picky. Wannabe musician

Thank you so much for this I love Elton John and all these songs are coming from here thank you this is also identical to the real song
The best way to make it work on guitar is using a capo on 3rd and play
Em7 G A
D D/F# G
C A D
repeat
Gm7 C F Bb Gm7 A
then chorus
D F#7 G D (A/C#) B7 Em7 A D (A/C#)
Bm F# G Bb
(C) D A/C# Bm D/A G G/A A
Gm7 C F Bb Gm7 A
Well done. Great chords. Thank you
