I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss

Well a few of the verses well they’ve got me quite cross
But the sun’s been quite kind while I wrote this song
It’s for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do

You see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen

  1. Thank you for this! It’s just what I needed!

  2. You made my night, thanks!

  3. Thank you this helped me 🙂

  4. is this for a piano or guitar

    • I transcribed it on piano. It can be played on the guitar in this key, however you may want to transpose it and use a capo to make it easier. I don’t have any auto-transpose features available at this time.

  5. I played it on the guitar with the capo on the first fret and then play it as you were playing in the key of D (which is acutally Eb with the capo) and it sounded great. You can do the nice intro by playing the open D string (Eb) repeatedly while moving the inversion voicings up and then back down the neck of the guitar. Awesome, classic song. Have fun!

  6. Thank you for contributing this. Very nice, very helpful!

  7. I love the Bb with D in the bass. That is genius.

  8. Nice to see an accurate rendition of this really great song. I’ve seen more poor transcriptions of this than just about anything else so well done for getting it right. I’ve tried it in G C and E flat with capo on 3rd and sing it really badly no matter what the key! But what a great piece of music. Thanks Elt and Bernie.

  9. great mate you you’ve helped me for my concert thanks a million

  10. Very well done. Thankyou so much for doing the bassline harmonies and the sevenths and what not. However I believe that maybe on the third line its Bb/Eb?
